With an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, Empire Gold Buyers have one of the best reputations of all the online gold buyers. They have had no complaints in their history with the BBB. We have only recently started using them but they have turned into one of our favorites.
For us, one of the biggest reasons to use Empire Gold Buyers is that they have free FedEx shipping with insurance available up to $25,000. Many refiners online don’t even offer insurance, let alone that much.
And because they use FedEx overnight shipping their turnaround time is very quick. In fact the same day they process your shipment, they send you a quote. Also if you decline you can get your gold back in a matter of days rather than weeks with some dealers.
Of course what is also very important is their pay scale. It starts at 96% of current gold price for transactions over a troy ounce (see our post on finding your gold’s value if your not sure how much your gold weighs). Their payout also goes up to 98.5% for very large volume orders – which we love to take advantage of.
There are a few other refiners that we still use for various reasons but Empire Gold Buyers has become our gold refiner of choice and we encourage you to check them out at the very least.
